Youth dominates Southdown Squash Club’s championships

Nic Davies, our fantastic club coach, has being doing great job especially with juniors and their early evening matches were all played in great spirit.

Final outcomes were Cameron Baker winning Junior Championship beating Dom Moorhead. The U/13 winner was Jacob Stammers who beat Ben Goode.

Further recognition was given to Jacob Prosser (Most Improved Player of year), U/13 Player of year was Hal Knox and Cameron Baker was Junior Player of year. All Juniors did fantastically well for season under Nic’s coaching guidance and inspiration.

The adult finals again produced some great results and hopefully we will all be inspired to win one of the Trophies next year!! The Level Doubles Championship saw Spencer Prosser and Andy Gray winning tough 5 setter against Paul Spruce and Martin Elliott. The handicap Doubles was also won by Andy and Spencer beating Nev Carter and Bob Wheadon just!, in another tough match again.

In the Handicap Drawn Doubles final Bob Wheadon and Martin Davey defeated Bill Jefferies and David Hawker despite having to give big handicap start.
