National Glory for Durrington

They were watched by a crowd of more than 400, many of whom were family and friends who had travelled from Worthing to support the side.

Durrington High School is the junior section for Ashcombe Dorking Volleyball Club and all the players except one are pupils at the school.

Captain Izzy Fumagalli led the team throughout, encouraging play when the going got tough. Sabrina Farley and Georgia Bird, who is only 14 and still has two more years at this age group, were the mainstay of the block defence and effectively stopped any successful attacks by the Newcastle spikers.
