Nervy start for Challen

NEW Littlehampton Cricket Club captain Benn Challen got off to a winning start on Saturday, but only just.

Chasing 183 to win, Littlehampton ensured a nervy finish when their last pair of debutant Matt Keen and Chris Hanks needed, and got, the six runs to win.

A second-wicket stand of 75 between Chris Heberlein and South African Siya Sibiya put Littlehampton in a commanding position. When Heberlein was out for 40 with the score on 87, Littlehampton still seemed in control.

Sibiya smashed 63 from just 46 balls with seven fours and four sixes before he was fourth man out with the score on 131. However, the next five wickets fell for just 46 runs.
