New carriage for disabled group

Members of the Happy Landings Driving Group at Wisborough Green are celebrating after receiving a grant of £5,000 from the National Lottery Awards for All programme.

This grant has enabled the group to buy a new Fenix '“ four wheel carriage which has been adapted to carry wheelchairs.

The Happy Landings Group is affiliated to the Riding for the Disabled Association and provides carriage driving for adults with disabilities.

They meet once a week from April to October and currently have 30 drivers with a wide range of disabilities.

Group organiser Mrs Carol Porter said: "We are thrilled to get this award. For a group like ours this is a large sum of money and it will allow us to give our members a much more comfortable drive."
