New Chichester venture aims to take triathlon to a new level

After the very successful Natures Way triathlon last month, Chichester will host its first open-water triathlon on the August bank holiday weekend

Tri iT Sports is a new business and will be delivering all things triathlon in and around Chichester.

With a strong team that has more than 30 years of triathlon experience, the members of Tri iT Sports have already featured in the Observer.

Multiple GB age group member Andy Matthews, chairman of the local successful triathlon club Adrian Campbell and Luke Leleu, whose son Harry is aiming for a GB talent squad place after finishing first in the youth south east triathlon series, are all involved.

The three were upset with the lack of quality events around the area - with the exception of the Natures Way Chichester Triathlon, whose quality is their benchmark - so decided to do something about it.

Their first event at Christ’s Hospital went extremely well and entrants found it hard to believe that it was their debut.

The next event is in Chichester - a 1,500m sea swim followed by a 44km cycle race and a 10k run.

The race is open to all and there is provision for teams to enter.

Luke Leleu said: “This is a really exiting venture. We are so pleased our goal of putting on quality events was achieved at our first event and we aim to deliver it again and again.

“We are passionate about triathlon and hope that this comes across in everything that we do, which will include our shop and performance centre that opens soon in Chichester.”
