New Grog runner is unveiled for new season

THE latest colt which will run under the banner of Goodwood Racehorse Owners Group (GROG), as a two-year-old next season, was unveiled at a special reception at Goodwood House.

The new colt for the 18th group, by Elusive City, which has been named Goodwood Atlantis, was paraded outside the house. He was joined by filly Goodwood Treasure, who was a winner this year for the 17th GROG group, trained by John Dunlop at Castle Stables, Arundel.

Like all GROG horses, the new colt will run for two seasons and will be trained by John Dunlop.

The name for the new colt was suggested by two members, Lesley McGrath and Angela Wormald and was given the vote of approval ahead of many other names drawn. Abgela also had her name drawn as winner of a Champagne lunch for two people at Goodwood next season.

Afterwards Goodwood Treasure returned to Lavington Stud, where she will remain at grass until the New Year. Goodwood Atlantis will continue with his elementary training at Arundel.

The bay colt has a pedigree packed with high class speed elements , coming from the world’s premier speed line stemming from Mr Prospector.
