The New Roaders will be unveiling their smart-looking new clubhouse, which has undergone a significant transformation over the summer.

It all starts at 11am and will continue throughout the day. There will also be a barbecue, open bar, fun rugby-based activities and live music provided by Rye College students.

Club captain Matt Cooke said: “We’re opening the doors to members old and new, the general public and anybody interested in the club to come and see all the work that’s been put in over the summer.

“It’s an opportunity to see the new and improved Rye Rugby Club. The quality of the interior is now at quite a high standard and we want to show the world what we’ve got.”

The club has had a new bar and new carpet fitted inside the building, and there’s been plenty of work done on the exterior including new decking.

“It’s something not only the rugby club can be proud of, but the town as well,” added Cooke. “It’s a really good facility.”
