New report looks at jump racing

Horse racing plays a key role in British life. It is one of the country's leading sports, with a substantial presence in the national and regional media, millions of followers, and a sizeable and dedicated workforce.

"Internationally, British racing is held in renown for its passion, quality , integrity and tradition. Jump racing in particular goes from strength to strength. It has seen new records set for racegoers, raceorse owners, fixtures, races and horses in training in recent years, and a period of substantial investment by racecourses ensures we offer first class facilities, coupled with spot of incomparable drama and excitement, to our customers and sponsors alike," says Martin Broughton, chairman of the British Horseracing Board, in his introduction to Jump Racing Focus.

The document has been commissioned by the Racecourse Holdings Trust, a subsidiary of the Jockey Club, to demonstrate the vitality and growth experienced in the jump racing business over the past few years.

It not only takes a look back at the highlights of 2005-2006 season, but predicts an even more exciting 2006-2007, acknowledging the contribution made by everyone involved in jump racing in the UK.It also outlines the benefits available to potential investors and sponsors.
