OGDEN'S NATIONAL TITLE AND A RECORD

RACHAEL OGDEN is back with a bang, a British title and a championship record. The Worthing Harrier became National Inter-Counties 800 metres champion at Bedford on Sunday in 2min 6.05sec. The title had not been won in a faster time and, although not a startling one, the time was a respect-able one at this stage for Ogden.

Having not run a race last season owing to a foot injury Ogden, 25, suddenly has put her career back into gear She has already put in a 1,500m of 4min 16.21sec '” the second fastest outdoors in the UK this season. This and the 800m are the domain of double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes.
