Basketball: The Heat is on for Chichester Knights in final home game

Chichester Knights lost 84-59 when they welcomed the Tres Barilles Heat for their last home game of the season.

Knights had a full roster, brimming with energy and ready to face the second-placed team.

The Heat got off to a hot start, making fast-break shots and capitilising on their size advantage inside.

Stu Hardyman made some early scores with Connor Ferry making the inside battle competitive, rebounding strong and making life difficult for their big men.

The second quarter saw nights find some offensive momentum with Zoltan Banyi, Jamie Atkins and Ethan Walsh making some tough offensive makes.

However The Heat made some tough shots of their own to lead at the half, 30-43.

The Knights rotated their deep bench to maintain the energy into the second half. Dane Gingell, Sam Freeman and Ferry continued their competitive play and energy at both ends of the floor but Knights struggled to put the ball in the hoop as well as The Heat continuing to make tough shots, showing why they are vying for the title.

The fourth quarter saw the Knights adjust their defence and try to put the Heat on the back foot. Isaac Haskell and Raf Cuesta took advantage at the offensive end with Andy Knight, Adam Turvey and Ben Lucas adding an extra level of defensive pressure.

Knights won the last quarter and can take this energy into the final game on the road.
