The teams swapped the lead on a few occasions in the first period, and there was little to choose. Battle Axes eventually holding on to win 26 – 23 on the back of some awesome shooting from Morgan who was the Battle Axes Player of the Match. Eve picked up the PoM for Martlets.

Hide AdThe Battlers took on Easier Said Than Run in the 7.40 game. On the night when Easier Said were awarded their winners medals for the summer league, they showed similar form and moved the ball at speed and converted their opportunities to register a 34 – 18 win. PoM for Battlers was Alex, while George was nominated for the Easier Said ladies.
The Gin Fizz side took on the Goal’den Girls in tonight’s third match. The Goal’den Girls were true to form and moved the ball at speed across the length of the court. They also turned the ball over on a few occasions, but their energy and speed of movement defensively created a number of stolen possessions to give them a greater number of shots in the game. Gin Fizz tried valiantly but were beaten 35 – 15. The PoM for Goal’den Girls was Ashley, while Shelly was PoM for the Gin Fizz.
Final game of the night promised to be a close affair as both the Mocking Jays and the Goal Diggers went into the game with exactly the same record in the league table; 6 pts, 1 win, 1 loss, -7 goal difference.

Hide AdThis was a match that had a bit of everything with some great passing, a few clumsy turnovers, some missed shots and then some made long shots. The Mocking Jays pulled away in the third period to record a 26 – 20 victory. PoM for Mocking Jays was Anj, while Jess was awarded the PoM for Goal Diggers.
The Mocking Jays now move up to mid-table in a tie with the Battle Axes and Gin Fizz on 11 points.
