Why that distance? It’s what it would take to get from Chichester to Tokyo’s national stadium – the home of the 2020 Olympics – and back again.

They are doing it over 50 days, finishing tomorrow (Aug 9), which should have been the date of the Olympic closing ceremony.

The triathletes are using roads and pathways around Chichester for the running and cycling as well as using the Goodwood motor circuit’s cycling days to get the extra kilometres in on the bikes – and garden pools and the sea to complete the swimming.

CWTC have chosen the charity Mind to support as many adults, children and young people currently need extra support with their mental health.

Teenagers are particularly vulnerable to mental health issues and support from a charity such as Mind can change and save lives.

You can help them reach their target of £5,000 as every little helps – the Justgiving page is at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nicola-mcculloch3
