As we reported last week, Zoe, who was 60, died last week four and a half years afrer being diagnosed with breast cancer, prompting heartfelt tributes from family, friends and racing figures.

Her husband Andy Irvine, who has taken over her trainer’s role, set up a JustGiving page to raise money for the IJF, a charity Zoe supported wholeheartedly during her career.

Andy set an initial £5,000 target but that was passed within days and the total stood just over £7,500 on Monday morning.

He said on the fundraising page: “As we all know dear Zoe sadly lost her long battle with cancer on January 3 2021 and her wonderful personality that touched so many people will be forever missed by her family and friends.

“Aside from her family, horse-racing was truly Zoe’s world and many of us visiting this page will have great memories and stories we can share of Zoe and her horses.

“However, as we know the racing industry is full of highs and lows and it is in those difficult down periods where the Injured Jockeys Fund comes in to provide much-needed support to jockeys who are injured, unable to ride or who are simply in need.

“Zoe saw and appreciated first hand the great work that the IJF undertakes and she would have loved nothing more than to help others benefit from the IJF.

“Therefore, whilst flowers are always welcome, we would love it if you would consider making a donation to the IJF in memory of Zoe Davison and to help jockeys benefit from this very deserving charity in the future. Thank you so much for whatever you are able to contribute.

“Thank you so much for your support of this great cause, with love, Andy, Gem, Charlotte and Harriette.”
