Isabel is in GB hockey under-16 squad

Beacon Academy pupil Isabel Field has been congratulated on being selected for the under-16 England girls’ hockey squad.

Goalkeeper Field, who is in Year 11 at the Crowborough school, started in the sport at Crowborough Hockey Club,

She has been been playing for four years and now plays for East Grinstead.

The head of PE at Beacon Academy, Karen Carney, said: “This is an amazing and well-deserved achievement for Isabel, who has been working incredibly hard in trials since October.

“Isabel is an amazing sportswoman who has always excelled in all sports.

“I am absolutely delighted with her selection for England – I could not be happier for her.

“Isabel will go far I am sure.

“I will be watching and following her progress.

“We wish Isabel every success and hope to welcome her back to Beacon in the future.”

Field will continue with weekend training camps and will be involved in matches against Wales and Scotland in the summer.
