LAVANT

Lavant Blue played away to Arundel Mullets in a league match in which the final score of 55-22 went Arundel’s way.

Mat one under B Wallsgrove with W Cooper, J Frost and M Keane in support struggled on Arundel’s mats and lost 33-7.

T Boxall led his team of G Terry, J Powell and B Cooper on mat two but they lost 22-15, giving all points to the Mullets.

Lavant sent a friendly team to Norfolk where they enjoyed a close game.

Mat one with P Winter as skip and E Keane, K Fancy and M Keane backing him up had a ding-dong match that went to the last end when Lavant managed to pick up a two to win 18-17.

Mat two had P Whale in charge with V Frost, G Terry, and B Wallsgrove backing him up had a successful start and held on to their lead throughout to win 27-11.

Undaunted, Lavant Blue returned to Arundel to play the Swallows in a league match, this time in a much closer game.

B Wallsgrove led J Frost, D Bishop and M Keane to a narrow win of 21-20. T Boxall skipped his team of W Cooper, G Terry and B Cooper to a narrow loss of 18-16 and an overall win to the Swallows of 39-36.

SOUTHBOURNE

Southbourne Rangers 52 Bognor Goodwoods Green 34

Southbourne Rangers hosted Bognor Goodwoods Green in the West Sussex CW1 league and for the first time this season Southbourne Rangers were pleased to take all six points.

On the mat skipped by Dave Alner, Southbourne had a good start and never looked back for the rest of the game. On the other mat Bognor raced ahead by 11 points but then Southbourne started to pull back and eventually won the mat with a six-wood lead.

Scores: Karen Alner, Pete Jasinski, Dave Walter, Andy Smith (s) won 24:18; Audrey Bull, John Prebble, Alex Horne, Dave Alner (s) won 28:16.

DONNINGTON

Donnington SMBC members played for the Chairman’s Trophy. Organised by chairman Allan Banham, 18 members were split into teams of three for this fun afternoon.
