Monterosso Vikings beat allcomers to land British ladies' open

Polo's British Ladies Open Championship attracted eight teams at Cowdray Park - with Monterosso Vikings and Park Place making it through to the final on Sunday afternoon on a rather overcast Ambersham 1 ground.

It was a fabulous well-balanced game with both teams working well with strategic play.

Lia Salvo kicked off the goalscoring, putting Park Place in the lead scoring the only goal of the first chukka. Monterosso Vikings found their stride and came back in the second securing 2 goals, Lia Salvo again popped one through for Park Placeto makeit 2-2.

During the third Hazel Jackson for Monterroso Vikings stamped her authority on the game increasing their score to 5-2 by the bell.

A final winning goal in the fourth by Emma Boars secured the trophy for Monterosso Vikings, ending the match with a 6-3 win.

Best Playing Pony was Mosqueta, owned and ridden by Milly Hine in the first and fourth chukkas.
