No need for a battle - Westage gymnasts shine at 1066 event

Westgate Gymnastics were invited to attend the 1066 Invitational Gymnastics Club competition in Hastings, East Sussex.

The gymnasts were unfazed by travelling so far, considering the stormy weather forecast, and were keen to compete when they arrived.

The floor and vault competition levels were novice, intermediate and advanced. Representing Westgate were a number of gymnasts nervously taking part in their very first competition.

The coaches were full of praise for how hard the gymnasts concentrated and performed throughout the day, achieving some very pleasing results.

Advanced: Lily Turner 1st Vault, 2nd Floor (Silver overall); Chloe Cramp 1st Floor, 1st Vault (Gold overall).

Intermediate: Alena Forrestal 1st Floor (Gold overall) ; Luna Golby 2nd Floor, 2nd Vault (Silver overall); Eleanor Forden, 1st Vault (Silver overall); Alicia Cramp 3rd Vault, (Bronze overall); Lana Omurchu 3rd Floor, (4th); Isabella Simpson 3rd Floor, (5th); Ashly Turvey (6th); Morgan Woolston (5th); Natasha Hall (6th); Hattie Monk (7th); Olive Kus (8th).

Westgate’s enthusiastic team of coaches are British Gymnastics-qualified, giving gymnasts the chance to develop their skills to competition level and also work to improve strength, flexibility and gymnastic technique.

They warmly welcome children aged four-and-a-half upwards of any standard and ability throughout the Chichester district - whether they are a seasoned gymnast, or a complete novice looking to build and develop new skills in a relaxed, fun and safe environment.
