The latest lockdown meant group training sessions and matchplay have not been able to take place and the European championship in Spain has been delayed until October.

But none of that has stopped Ella Slade, 14, from being involved in the sport. She and her teammates, who are going to represent England juniors at the European championships, have used the time to bond as a team even more.

Ella has been using Zoom to have weekly meetings with the rest of the female junior team and coaches. Each junior takes turns in hosting the meeting looking at game scenarios, tactics, and fun things as well as keeping up the camaraderie between them all.

Ella has used her exercise time during lockdown to practice her petanque skills and complete tasks and exercises set by the England coaches. She has been competing in a virtual shooting competition organised by a fellow petanque member.

She is able to practise her shooting skills whilst competing against some of the best players in England through live streams. Ella thanked Bartletts Seat for their continued support for her petanque journey.
