RIP Liam Treadwell - tragic jockey's great riding career in pictures

They called him Tredders - and he was always smiling, often winning. Liam Treadwell, who has died at the age of 34, was universally popular on the horse racing circuit. It's a sport in shock and mourning at his untimely death.

Liam was born in Arundel and attended The Angmering School and still had strong links in this part of the world. He rode more than 300 winners in a 17-year career in the saddle. Trainers, fellow jockey and industry bosses have all been quick to pay tribute to a great jockey. Here we pick out just some of the pictures that show him in action - including the day that made him a household name, when he won the Grand National on 100-1 outsider Mon Mome.
