Thirteen-year-old Noah takes Stableford honours at Littlehampton

Despite an outstanding five under score of 65, for 42 Stableford points, Josh Wood had to settle for runner-up spot in the Littlehampton Golf Club weekend Stableford competition on Sunday.

Thirteen year old Noah Downs, one of the early starters, who played in the same group as Josh, posted an amazing 44 points and was left on tenterhooks for the remainder of the day.

He was regularly checking the online leaderboard to see if his score had been beaten.

When the final two scores were posted from the 75-strong field, at around 7pm, the agonising wait for Noah was over and it was official: he had won.

Noah is one of three generations of the Downs family playing on the links at Littlehampton and is sure to be making the headlines many times in the future.
