West Sussex rugby clubhouse 'in desperate need of renovating'

Shoreham Rugby Club has appealed for the public’s help to raise vital funds.

The community rugby club in Buckingham Park, Upper Shoreham Road, finally has a clubhouse after 30 years – but it is ‘falling down in the inside’.

That’s according to under 10s manager Lucy Gabriel, who has set up a GoFundMe page.

“Shoreham Rugby Club needs your help,” the fundraising page read. “After 30 years of not having a clubhouse – we finally have one thanks to Adur Parks and Estates.

"It is a fantastic building but in desperate need of renovating for safety, so it can be used and enjoyed by our teams and the wider community.

"We are in need of funding. We are looking for sponsors and donations.”

Lucy said the funds would go towards supporting the whole community – ‘not just for rugby’.

Adur District Council have finally given us a lease, which is amazing, but we need money to do it up. It’s been years and is falling down in the inside.”

So far £555 has been raised. If you would like to make a donation, visit www.gofundme.com/f/shoreham-rugby-clubhouse
