PASHLEY'S WORLD TITLE TILT

TOM Pashley, 18, from Ringmer, has been selected to represent England at the World Junior Men's Squash Championships in Palmerston North, New Zealand, from July 17 to 28.

Tom, England U19 No 1 who is based at The Southdown Club in Lewes, has been preparing for these championships for the last two years. In between studying for his A-Levels - he completed his final exam last Friday - Tom trains for three or four hours a day either with his coach Mike Harris, England High Performance Coach, with his training and practice partners which, including Linda Elriani, Women's World No 5 from Eastbourne, Chris Simpson and Suzie Pierrepont both former British and European U19 No 1s to name a few and with Flo Pietsch, his physical trainer in Eastbourne.

Tom said: 'It's very exciting and an honour to be competing for England at the World Championships and with it being in New Zealand is an extra bonus. It's a long trip and it's going to be physically and mentally tough, that's why I have been training so hard for the last two years.'
