Peter powers on with success in Paris

Angmering judo star Pete Vincent continued his superb form by collecting a silver medal in the recent AS Bondy international tournament.

It was far from easy for Vincent as he powered to six victories, before losing in the final of the heavyweight class.

Following three tough group stage fights, Vincent beat talented Qatari Reda Nafwa in the quarter-finals.

Vincent them saw off a Georgian opponent with an ippon win to book a final spot.

Home international Pierre David then edged out Vincent in a close final.

Vincent said: “France is one of the strongest judo nations in the world, so it is always pleasing to pick up a medal there.”
