Adam Waterworth looked back on his first Glorious Goodwood at the helm and declared: It was unbelievable.

But plenty of other memorable moments followed, such as Frankie Dettori winning the Goodwood Cup wit Opinion Poll, top female jockey Hayley Turner notching her first Glorious Goodwood win in the totesport Mile on Boom or Bust and Tom Queally following up Frankel’s romp by guiding Midday to a record third Nassau Stakes victory.

Waterworth said: “It was an unbelievable week. The racing was first-class throughout.

“The Sussex Stakes got the big build-up and certainly didn’t disappoint. We saw the best racehorse in the world and it was certainly one of those ‘I was there’ moments.

“I think that set the tome for the rest of the week. We had such a fantastic atmosphere all week and that pleased me even more than the fact crowd numbers were up through the week.
