PLAYERS TAKE AIM

A SOLD out field of 156 players contested the 1066 Sporting Club Open Darts Championships at the Famous ATHA Showbar in Bexhill on Sunday.

A capacity crowd was treated to seven hours of top quality action and the eventual winner was Bob Aldous of Surrey who disposed of Kent's Matt Clark in the final. Losing semi-finalists were Dorset duo Paul Carter and Simon Whateley.

The youth champion was Michael Hammond from Brighton with Worthing's James Greenfield runner-up.

Trophies were presented by Douglas and Melanie Boswell of tournament sponsors Tork UK. Pictured is Rye youngster Gareth Thomas.
