Point to Point Diary

THE biggest topic to hit the headlines recently in the point-to-pointing world is that people are getting very fed up with trainer Paul Nicholls running top-class chasers like Thisthatand tother in hunter chases.

Hence there were only five runners, rather than the usual entry, at the last Fontwell Park meeting in the hunter chase won by that horse.

No-one sees the point in running against a horse rated the best part of five stone more.

The second meeting in the South East took place on Sunday at Godstone when pony racing was on the agenda.

Heather and Ian Cobb's daughter, Gemma, of Pulborough, was very narrowly beaten into second place in her race and it would be no surprise to see her winning a race shortly.

I was delighted with the performance of my horse, Nathos.
