The race - which the boyes have organised since 2009 - has grown to become one of the most popular 10k runs in the area with the course suitable for both fun and serious runners alike.

The route is the same as in previous years. Starting in Battle High Street at 10am, runners will head up to the roundabout before turning around and going back down the High Street, along Lower Lake and turning into Powdermill Lane.

The race will then head towards Catsfield before turning back towards Battle along Catsfield Road and North Trade Road, and finishing on the Abbey Green with the historic Battle Abbey as the backdrop.

Runners receive great support from spectators around the route, while on the Abbey Green the Bonfire Boyes provide a barbecue and refreshments for those waiting for the runners to return.

BBB are offering a £100 cash prize to any runner who can set a new course record. The current record is 32:50, which was set in 2011 by Daniel Anderson. All finishers will receive a medal and there will be a prize- giving ceremony at 11.15am on the Abbey Green.

A road closure will operate in the High Street from 9.20-9.40am and again from 9.50-10.15am with stop/go boards from 10.30-11.15am. Powdermill Lane will be closed from 10-10.45am.
