Praise for juniors in inaugural title clash

A TEAM of seven boys and girls from Worthing Swimming Club was selected to play for Sussex in the inaugural South-East/London region under-14 tournament.

Sam Wildman, Karen Chan, Oliver Rainford, Henry Jackson, Laura Joseph, Tara Osborne and Joe Hazeldine competed at the Whitgift School pool in South Croydon.

Coach Alastair Roberts said: "It was a tough programme of four matches and all members of the team have learned from the experience. The selection process for this squad started with in excess of 40 boys and girls, so all of them did well to make the final squad of 13."

The remaining members of the squad were Nicole Tuffin (Brighton SC), Franny Collings (Haywards Heath/

Burgess Hill), Toby Fraser (Haywards Heath/Burgess Hill), Wesley Connellan (Haywards Heath/Burgess Hill), Joseph Jeffries (Haywards Heath/Burgess Hill) and Lydia Thomas (Brighton SC).
