If Harry Maguire trades Leicester City for Manchester United in a big money move, Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers may be tempted to pay Albion’s asking price for the 27-year-old.

Other outlets had credited Aston Villa with interest in Dunk as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a Premier League return but Albion’s asking price is likely to cool the Midlands club’s interest.

Albion manager Graham Potter wants the AMEX Stadium to become a Premier League fortress.

Speaking to the Argus, Brighton’s head coach said: "If you can create an environment that is hostile for the opposition, that gives the home team extra, then of course that's what we are all trying to do.

"It's not a one-way thing, we have to provide something as well.

"That I think is the good thing about this club. While there has been a fantastic rise recently, they had a long time not in the Premier League so people understand how hard it is to get there and that every game in the Premier League is difficult and you can lose.”
