Always one to follow at his local track, Aspell rode back-to-back winners at Sunday’s family race day - and has two more chances of success on today’s seven-race card.

Aspell triumphed on board 10/1 contender Marcus Antonius for trainer Jim Boyle in the 32Red Handicap Hurdle then followed up with a second victory on board old campaigner Morestead, trained by Brendan Powell, who took the 32RedPoker.com Handicap Chase after going off at 7/1.

Today Aspell is back at one of his happiest hunting grounds working for three different Sussex handlers.

First he rides Ya Hafed for Falmer’s Sheena West in the opener, the 32Redbingo.Com Novices’ Hurdle at 2.10. Then Aspell is on Inner Steel, an eight-year-old trained by Lydia Richards at Funtington, in the 32Red Novices’ Handicap Chase at 3.40.

And he is on Just Archie for Littlehampton handler Lady Herries in the £32 Bonus At 32Red.Com Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race, which closes the fixture at 5.25.

On paper, all three would appear to have a chance - with Inner Steel arguably the most likely to prevail.
