PROPS SIGN FOR THE CAUSE

RUGBY BALLS signed by World Cup Final stars will be subject to bidding at Worthing RFC on Sunday '” and organisers were hoping this week that injured England prop Trevor Woodman will travel down to present the various prizes on this Leukaemia find-raising day.

One ball has been signed by several England players, including Woodman and fellow prop Phil Vickery. Another had been autographed by Australia's captain in the final, George Gregan.

In providing the rugby spectacle on the pitch, the Corsairs and the Wooden Spoon Club guest sides will draw on players drawn from the top two divisions of the National League. These will be joined by players from Worthing in providing what would be expected to be the highest quality of rugby yet seen at Roundstone Lane.

Local parents' support charity, Leucan, will also benefit.

BBC film and Meridian live TV cameras will be present. There will be a barbecue and other food available as well as picnicking being recommended.
