PURE FRUSTRATION FOR LITTLEHAMPTON

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club dominated Saturday's game from start to finish against bottom club Three Bridges but could not force the win '” despite having nine overs at Bridges' last pair. Littlehampton, having been put in to bat, posted 235-9 but Bridges strangely never went for the win and ended on 97-9 from 52 overs.

Bridges have won just once this season and much more negative cricket like Saturday will surely condemn them to Division 2 next year.

However, things are still looking bright for Littlehampton. Chris Kirkham and Chris Cooke hit half-centuries and right-arm spinner Benn Challen took 6-21. Had Littlehampton taken Bridges last wicket, they would now be third in the league. That just shows the progress they have made since promotion last year.
