Racehorse owners' group enjoys morning on Arundel gallops

SPRING sunshine and a clear day welcomed members of Goodwood Racehorse Owners' Group to trainer John Dunlop's gallops in Arundel Park recently.

They were able to see their two horses, Goodwood Diva and Goodwood Maestro in action on the gallops, along with 17 other horses from the string that will be in action shortly on the track.

The day was one of a number of social events on the calendar for the group, managed by Gail Brown. The scheme is fully inclusive with a one -off payment of 725 buying a one two hudnreth share in Goodwood Racehorse Owners' Group for a season.

Normally the group has a two-year-old and a three-year-old running each season, but this year's intended three-year-old, Goodwood Chimes, developed tendon problems preventing him from racing at all in 2009.

Trainer John Dunlop stepped in with the offer of a replacement in the form of his home-bred two-year-old colt by Piccolo out of Madurai by Chillibang.
