Rakesh takes seven more

ARUNDEL Cricket Club's Rakesh Parmar took seven more wickets on Saturday as his side won a low-scoring contest at home to Burgess Hill.

Parmar now has 21 wickets for the season and Saturday was the third time this season that he has taken six or more wickets.

He finished with 7-37 after opening the Arundel bowling attack, who were defending a total of just 113.

However, Arundel bowled Burgess Hill out for just 94 to move back to the top of the Invitation League Division 2 table.

In Arundel's total, Australian Jamie Scardifield top-scored with 27.

In Division 3, East Preston lost to Keymer for the second time this season. EP made just 162-9 after electing to bat first with Colin Smith's 35 the highest score.

Sean Rebbetts took two Keymer wickets in reply but Keymer got home with six wickets to spare.

In Division 4, Rustington suffered a three-wicket home defeat against St Andrews.

Rustington posted 189-8 from their 49 overs, of which captain Jamie Howick struck 60 not out. St Andrews aided the total with 51 extras.

St Andrews then fell to 159-6 but dropped catches meant Rustington could not make further inroads until it was too late.

Mark Page took 4-41 for Rustington from six overs.
