Rebels give Albion a first-half fright

WORTHING Football Club kicked their pre-season programme off with a promising first-half display against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Rebels more than matched their League One opponents for much of the opening period and were unfortunate to go in a goal down at the break. Brighton changed their side completley at half-time and looked a lot more dangerous going forward, scoring three times while Worthing rarely threatened.

The game was full of incident early on with both sides awarded penalties in the opening seven minutes. On five minutes, one of Albion's five triallists, Stephane Biakolo, was brought down by Andy Lutwyche and Dean Hammond stroked the ball calmly into the bottom right-hand corner of Rikki Banks' goal.
