Record breaking Roberts

BEXHILL captain Sam Roberts has smashed the club's batting and bowling records in one incredible season.

The Australian all-rounder accumulated 821 runs to surpass the total of 732 set by Ian Cox in 1988 and claimed 51 wickets, obliterating Alan Tack's tally of 36 in 1983.

A delighted Roberts said: "I am absolutely chuffed to break both records. I am a little bit proud of myself because to do well with both bat and ball is really pleasing."

Roberts scored his runs over 14 innings giving him a average of 74.64 runs. His 51 wickets were taken in 335.3 overs and he managed to take five wickets in a match on four occasions.
