RHODIE'S TON-UP DAY

LANCING got another boost from midfielder John Rhodie on Monday. Made captain on his 100th appearance he opened the scoring in the 63rd minute with his fourth goal of the season and his second in three games. That lead held good until the 85th when substitute Richard Lester sealed victory away to St Francis Rangers.

Leading scorer Adam Burton teed up Rhodie when surrounded by defenders after receiving a cross from the industrious Warren Levy '” who had made a 50-yard run from a pass by full-back Paul Etteridge.

Lester's physical presence later forced a defensive error and he drew the keeper to make the game safe as Lancing tired.

Reid's tip-over then his low save before the interval earned Cox's most fulsome praise.
