Rider's quest to raise money for Brooke Hospital

A West Sussex rider is undertaking a daunting ride in the Rift Valley to raise money for the Brooke Hospital.

Jane Ricards, who works in the Chichester College equine unit at Brinsbury, will be taking part on the ride from February 10'“17, aiming to raise as much money as possible for the vital work carried out by Brooke.

The equine hospital helps more than 500,000 working equine animals each year across seven countries.

Jane has to raise a target of 3,000 by March aand has already passed the 2,000 mark. She has a final fundraising event set for January 21 with a charity Clear Round Jumping day at Brinsbury College from 10am'“3pm.

Everything from small x'“poles up to jumps of 2ft 9ins'“ to 3ft will be there, and increasing through the day. They will start at 1ft 6in from 10am'“11am and continue to the last round at 3pm.

An impressive number of local companies have sponsored Jane so far, and more sponsorship will be gratefully received.
