Rooks' manager plans big changes

THERE'S a big shake-up on the way at Lewes Football Club following the Rooks's disappointing holiday results

Lewes lost 5-1 at Fisher on Saturday followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Eastbourne Borough on New Year's Day.

Now manager Steve King plans to bring in three or four new faces, hopefully in time for tomorrow's game at Basingstoke.

One current squad member will be leaving the Dripping Pan permanently, another is also likely to depart and two are expected to come in on loan.

At the time of going to press nothing was signed, but King's telephone was red hot doing the deals.

He said: 'Lewes are famous for having a good second half to the season and we are planning to repeat that after only an average first half.

'We still have 60 to play for and if we can get 40 in the second half of the season I think we can make the playoffs.

'I am hoping to bring in a goalkeeper and a full back for Saturday among the changes.'
