Rooks top of the table

Lewes moved to the top of the Conference South league table on Saturday with a 3-0 victory at Bishop's Stortford.

The Rooks went ahead in the 52nd minute through a bizarre own goal from Stortford's Ben Lewis when he lobbed the ball over his own goalkeeper Danny Gay.

Lewis's misery was compounded when he was sent off for stamping on Amos Foyewa on 75 minutes and Jean-Michel Sigere put the Rooks two ahead from the resultant penalty. The Frenchman made it 3-0 in the final minute.

Lewes's next league match is at Sutton United tomorrow night (Tuesday).
