RUGBY: Raiders get excellent win at Dings

WORTHING RAIDERS recorded an outstanding 26-25 win on Saturday (March 21) at Dings Crusaders in National 3 South.

The win moved Raiders up a place to fifth from bottom, above Bridgwater, after Ben Coulson kicked the winning penalty with 10 minutes left.

Dings moved into a 10-0 lead early on but Raiders fought back to 10-10 before going in at half-time trailing 22-16.

Worthing then moved 26-25 ahead with 10 minutes to play and held on to take four points.

Raiders touched down three tries through Kacper Lawski, Kyle Coulter, with his first for the club, and Micky Pointing, while Coulson kicked one conversion and three penalties.

Worthing team manager David Hinchcliffe said: "We were one try short of a bonus point, but we'd have bitten someone's hand off before the game for a win here.

"It's a massive result, especially with Bridgwater losing and other results going our way."
