Heath continue to play winning rugby against Eastbourne 2s

The opening period saw Heath and Eastbourne 2 trying to impose themselves on the other and it was Heath who got the first breakthrough when great work from the forwards led to Jamie Diggle scoring and Robbie Fotheringham converting to take a 0-7 lead. The match continued with strong exchanges, particularly between the respective forwards but again Heath took the initiative after 20 minutes and after a fabulous drive by the front row, Jack Lucas scored and another fine conversion took the score to 0-14. Straight from the restart Max Drage sprinted for the try line and scored, giving Heath a good advantage that they protected for the rest of the half taking the score at the break to 0-19.

Heath had been firmly in control during the first period but were in no mood to sit back, instead they applied instant pressure at the start of the second half - a charge down from Nick Miller allowed him to score under posts but the ground was cutting up by now and kicking was tricky so the conversion hit the post and the score stayed at 0-24. Shortly afterwards Eastbourne 2 made an interception and ran half the length of the pitch to put themselves on the scoreboard and show Heath that they needed to keep their concentration. Heath responded positively and Fotheringham scored and converted to take the score to 7-31 after 55 minutes. Further tires from Jack Lucas, Wilf Bridges, Robbie Fotheringham and a well-worked team try after pressure from Josh Salisbury took Heath out of reach of a tiring Eastbourne 2 and the scoreline to an impressive 7-55. Heath’s man of the match was Jamie Diggle recognising his tireless workload and fantastic team attitude throughout. Another great victory for Heath in this impressive series of results so far this season - the next match is at away v Shoreham 1 on 31 January.
