Heath recognises individual contributions to a winning team

Haywards Heath Rugby Club has brought its season to a close by announcing its Player of the Month Awards that were missed due to the wet weather and a moving match schedule during the final months of the season.

During February, Heath senior XV continued its unbeaten run under the guidance of 2014/15 captain Nick Main who was the unanimous choice for Player of the Month sponsored by the Tierney Wealth Consultancy. Nick has led the team with maturity and commitment this season and has played a key role in keeping the team focused and winning week in week out. Unfortunately Nick suffered a serious knee injury in March which will require an operation and rehabilitation before he can resume playing for Heath. Everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery.

The final matches of the season saw Jack Best, a young Colt player, emerge as a fixture in the senior starting XV taking on the kicking responsibilities at fly half and quickly gaining the respect of the more senior members of the squad. Heath looks forward the seeing more from this emerging talent as the next season unfolds and is delighted to confirm that Jack is the recipient of the Player of the Month Award for both March and April as the Heath season came to a close.
