Playing against the conditions Heath U13s drove strongly deep into the Pulborough 22 to unleash Chris Anson for an early try near the right corner flag. This seemed to settle the nerves and the game continued with Heath hammering away at the Pulborough try line. Heath had most of the territory and the home side made their dominance pay in the 18th minute when off a scrum the ball was moved wide and the forwards drove up the blindside from the ruck to put No 8 Tom Sheeran over for the second try.

The match turned around 10-0 at half time and with the conditions now in the home side’s favour, Heath were soon back into Pulborough’s 22. Frustratingly, Heath emerged pointless from a dominant early spell that included a lineout maul near the left hand corner and a couple of attacks out wide that ended in handling errors. However, with so much pressure Heath were not to be denied much longer as, after a series of attacking drives, second row James Foster powered over under the posts from close range.

With such good field position and quick ball the bonus point was the next target and duly came with a defence-splitting break from prop Dan Grant leading to a series of drives and off loads and the right wing Tom Roberts finishing off a superb period of play with a touch down in the corner.

With the final whistle fast approaching the Heath forwards continued to dominate the collisions and in a final push the back row forward Ollie Owens drove over near the posts to seal a dominant performance for Heath as the game ended 29-0 to Heath U13s.
