Holbrook hold firm to keep up their fine recent form

Ben Wells, just back from a long term injury, opened the scoring after ten minutes. He took the ball into contact and set up a maul close to the try line, which was eventually driven over.

Seaford then began to dominate the scrums, but Holbrook had the edge with better handling and support. Paul Davey then scored a great try, handing off one player, slipping another, then outpacing the flanker and full back to score in the corner.

Seaford continued to threaten, scoring a converted try and a penalty before the last play of half before Harry Swetman scored his first try for Holbrook.

After the break, Seaford stepped up the pace and Holbrook looked rattled.

The pressure finally paid off with two tries and Seaford could sense a win.

Penalties by Nick Holt and Matt Sprigge settled Holbrook, before Harry Mattock sold a dummy on the 22 metre line and then set off on a jinking run to score under the posts.

A forward pass denied Seaford a clear try, but ill discipline saw four yellow cards to Holbrook, two to one player who was sent off. Holbrook’s defence though stood firm to see out another victory.
