They won the Hampshire Cup in September and the Sussex 1st League. The season finale saw them take on second-placed Horsham to determine who would lift the All Sussex Trophy.

Horsham are the only team to beat Chi during the season, so they were out to make amends.

Only a couple of minutes in, centre Sid Lewis fended off a number of players to run through and score his first try.

Good possession and ball handling saw a pass go to captain Jack McCulloch who powered through to score Chichester’s second try. Freddie Slater converted to make the score 12-0.

Horsham converted a penalty and it was 12-3 at half-time.

Early in the second half, Lewis received the ball from his inside centre in his own 22 and powered up the pitch past every Horsham player that came near him to score a fantastic try. Slater’s conversion increased the scoreline.

Horsham hit back with another try and the last 15 minutes saw them throw everything at Chichester, but the defence would not be broken.
