Rocks Review: Tough trip to face Maidstone in Cup

The Rocks avoided going to Sittingbourne for an FA Cup replay - now they will have to go there in the next round.

They have been drawn away to Maidstone in the second qualifying round of the Cup, and the Kent side - without their own ground - play their games at Sittingbourne, where the Rocks went in the league nine days ago.

It’s hardly the ideal draw - Maidstone have scored nine in each of their two FA Cup games so far this season - but at least they’re opponents who play at the same level as the Rocks, when the men from Nyewood Lane have often come up against higher-ranked sides at this stage.

The game takes place on Saturday, October 1, meaning the planned league game at Ramsgate has been provisionally rearranged for Tuesday, October 11.

We’ll have reaction to the draw in the Observer on Thursday.
