Southsea Nomads ended their Hampshire two season in style with a 36-15 win at Kingsclere.

Nomads took the lead with a try after Murray Hobson intercepted a lofted pass for an easy run to the line.

Jonathan Branston added the conversion and did the same when Aaron Beesley went over for a second try.

While Kingsclere hit back with a penalty and converted try after the break, Nomads regained the initiative.

Beesley went on to complete his hat-trick, with Chris Marsh and Alex Tomlinson adding to the tally.

‘The team put in a very spirited performance on a very difficult pitch.’ said coach Mike Westall.

‘I was extremely happy with the adaptability of the players after a lot of early injuries.

‘A large number played out of position for the majority of the game.’
