Under-11s Pul it out the hat for Chichester

Chichester under-11s have lifted their first silverware of the season after winning a mini festival at Pulborough attended by 16 southern clubs.

Three tough pool games saw them face Heathfield, Horsham and Midhurst.

Against Heathfield, forwards Callum Wale and Christian Jarjat tackled hard and the scrum drove Heathfield back every time.

A ball was fed to William Newman on the wing. He turned on the burners to beat four players to score the winning try.

Against Horsham, Chichester lost by three tries to nil.

Against Midhurst, they were one try to the good at half-time with forwards Hamish Minton and Finn Crandon driving forward before Jack Martin scored an excellent solo try, followed by tries from Lee Carter and Ben Townsend.

Against Worthing in the semi-final, it finished 1-1 and in extra-time, Joseph Watts scored the decisive try.

The final against Dorking finished with no score, which meant a penalty conversion shoot-out.

Jack Martin converted and Robert Russell, William Newman and Lee Carter held their nerve for Chichester to run out 4-2 winners.

Chichester under-14s continued their unbeaten run with an impressive win.

Bennett and Aldridge were unlucky not to get early tries before Legg ran in the first.

Gibbons set up Legg for his second try. Aldridge and Bell added one each.

The second half started with Legg running in a long-distance solo try.

Coleman’s hard work enabled Fuller to add to the score.

Brooke-Jones offloaded to Taylor, who crashed the Bognor line. Aldridge added a further try before Gibbons rounded off an impressive team and individual performance with the ninth try of the game. Moss converted four tries.
