Schools compete

HICKSTEAD hosted the Hurstpierpoint College National Schools and Pony Club Jumping Championship last week when more than 11 teams competed, including some from West Sussex.

Farlington School, Horsham, fielded three senior and one junior team, while sponsor school Hurstpierpoint College, Burgess Hill School for Girls and Warden School at Cuckfield were each represented by one senior team.

Cowbridge Comprehensive School from Wales today took on some of the country's leading private schools to win the prestigious senior schools title at the Hurstpierpoint College National Schools and Pony Club Jumping Championships at Hickstead.

Sixty-seven teams from all over the country contested the senor title before the Cowbridge squad of Louise Edwards riding Myrddin, Josh Rees and Silver Sunburst and Bethan Allman with Murvey McCoy set a serious standard in the final with three clear rounds.
